I was supposed to do 1 hour on the elliptical today but when I went to the gym the one and only elliptical was taken. Foiled again! So with caution I decided to practice a combination of running and walking.
Mentally, I find it hard to have a certain time to run. For some reason I go for being able to run for hours to not able to make it the next 30 seconds. Tonight's workout was a good practice for the race. Now I have to decide when I will start to incorporate walking. Do I start at the beginning or some point along the way? I've heard that it is a bad idea to wait to walk until you are too tired to run because it is hard to start again. For right now, I think I'll run the 1st 15 or 20 and then start run/walking regardless of how I feel. It is so hard to judge since I haven't had a chance to up my mileage!
